WHAT ELSE IS NEW? AN UPDATE FROM MARCEL
Time for a small update. At the moment I am actually visiting Martin to work on the software.
Yesterday evening I arrived in Denmark and we immediately went off to visit Gysse, who has a beautiful SSD track. See video in previous post . We had a wonderful race night with 11 guys, a lot of beer (and a coke for me ), a lot of fun, and certainly a lot of good racing and nice discussions about the software, cars, strategics etc. We had some very close team racing with NSR magless cars, it was so good, one of the best race nights I ever had. Amazing how you are able to meet other people by being on a forum http://www.slotforum.com/. Thank you again guys.
But the main goal of the visit was (is) visiting Martin and work on the software. Of course we had a lot of plans we wanted to do, but, we ended up doing a lot of other stuff. A short overview;
– updated dashboards
– updated practice/qualify (timed qualify/practice is now possible)
– general user interface improvements
– pit pro works
– damage works
– something with sounds
– Martin’s Arduino board controls start lights and track call button
– working on pace cars – looks very promising
– and other small but very helpful features which I can’t remember, but than again I am still in Denmark
Next wednesday I have another test and If that is ok, we will release the next version with at least Pit Pro and damage control.
Thanks for reading,
Marcel, Team RCS
RCS64 RACE NIGHT IN DENMARK
Mr. Olufsen’s video from race night at Gyesse’s track at his home in Denmark.
Note the big screen with RCS64 displayed. Can anyone spot Marcel and Martin?
Marcel came second but where did Martin come?
Thanks for uploading this video to YouTube Mr. O
GREAT VIDEO
Thanks James for uploading this to YouTube.
DAMAGE FEATURE
Hi all,
Just had a sneaky test of the Damage feature that will be available in the next RCS64 version update.
Basically you can set the number of track calls that a driver is allowed to instigate or manually make before their car starts to run at ‘Safety Speed’.
You can set the safety speed to whatever you wish – even zero!
When the driver’s crash allowance is used up they will have to visit the pits to repair the damage.
When used along with the ‘Stop and Go’ penalty system, already in place, the crash and bash style of racing should be a thing of the past!
The Damage feature will added to the already impressive list of features available in the Formula One Edition.
To purchase the Formula One Edition visit the ‘Buy Full Edition’ page of this website.

VERSION 3.0.0.22
17-1-2013 : 3.0.0.22 – FORMULA 1 EDITION AVAILABLE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Formula 1 edition includes of course the Formula F3 features like;
Qualifying , Grand Prix Races,Time Limited Racing, Fuel load simulation, ‘Stop&Go’ penalties, Automatic Track Call/Brake call, Dynamic braking, Car database, Throttle calibration,Program cars from PC, Individual car settings for fuel load simulation, Advanced Editable throttle profiles, Dedicated dashboards with lap difference boxes, Multichannel sound options, APM: Advanced Pitstop Menu.
So what makes the Formula 1 edition so special;
– Tyre wear
– Weather
For the first time ever in a slot race management system (correct me If I am wrong) you now have to watch your tyres, feel your tyres wear, think ahead about strategy, react on weather and track conditions, and actually also be a race engineer and driver at the same time.
We like to call It sim(ulation) slot race management, because RCS64 aims to take slot racing to a new level. Which means tyre wear and weather is not all. A lot more to come. And still remain intuitive to use. Quite a challenge.
