VARIABLE SPEED, RANDOM LANE CHANGE, PACE CARS
Pace Cars are now well into development. The following video shows a pace car at the start of a 50 lap trial, in fact it did about 100 laps before I stopped it.
It’s average lap time was approx. 6.8 sec per lap – Human drivers average approx. 6.4 sec per lap with this car. I have raced against this pace car with a similar car and found it to be very entertaining – because it accelerates down the straights and then randomly changes lanes it is very hard to overtake.
Further work needs to be done, but Pace Cars are looking very promising indeed!

IMPORTANT UPDATE – ARDUINO AND SMART SENSORS
Important, if you are thinking about getting an Arduino Uno or Mega for start-/track call-/pit lights, you may want to wait about 1-2 weeks, because than we expect the Smart Sensor to be available.
The Smart Sensor is an Arduino based solution for pit in/out detection (or sector) AND it supports start-/track call-/pit lights. More details to follow soon.
If you dont need or want the sensors, than getting an Uno or Mega is still an option.
PACERS AVAILABLE IN JUNE!
Marcel says that an RCS64 version with pacers will be available in June. Work will then begin on a Rally mode along with Sector Timing, and then an Event Planner.
RALLY MODE FOR RCS64
Marcel has just posted about a Rally Mode for RCS64 on Slot Car Illustrated. Follow the conversation via the following link http://www.slotcarillustrated.com/portal/forums/showthread.php?t=71445&highlight=rcs64 Thread # 18 on second page.
UPDATE ON LACK OF RECENT UPDATES!
Hi all,
Sorry for the lack of updates lately, we all are very busy these days, and this is slowing down progress a little. And for another, very good but unforeseen reason….yes, RCS64 related ! Some very interesting development is going on with regards to sensors in combination with RCS. I can not tell you more, but I am very excited about It. Hope to tell you more soon ! This development takes away some time of Pace Car development, but in the end I know it will be worth It, trust me.

Arduino Controlled Lights on Awesome Track
Thanks to Dave Latymer for sharing this video.
VERSION 3.0.0.50 RELEASED
New version 3.0.0.50 is now available for download.
Mainly a bug fix release.
Some fixes;
– Tyre wear improved, did not work always correct if you brake less than amount of brake points, and also not in combination with dynamic brakes. This is now solved.
– open pit menu when no pit pro is used is improved (to prevent open menu while racing)
– sound issue when switching tabs after race is solved
– rain sound volume is lower
– save set up cars issue solved
– green light arduino out when track call
– track call when PB power is lost or connection lost, plug back in and continue race
– Lots of clean up in the code.
We think this is a very stable and reliable release.
Next step; release pacers.
We have a long lists of things we want to implement, we can’t wait to work on new features !
FASTER DOWNLOAD OF RCS
You can now download the new RCS64 version via the following link courtesy of RoadKill.

Thanks RoadKill can now download in 5 minutes instead of 17.
FUTURE DEVELOPMENT PLANS
The next major release will have pace cars (Possibly by the end of April if all goes as planned).
Future releases will have
- extended race results
- event planner
- Arduino individual dashboards
